Ethan Frisch is the co-founder of Burlap & Barrel, single origin spice company and social enterprise working with small farms in 26 countries around the world to source unique, beautiful spices for professional chefs and home cooks. By sourcing directly from farmers, Burlap & Barrel is able to build new supply chains that pay farmers 2-20x the commodity price for their crops and provide spices that are fresher, healthier and full of flavor.

Prior to starting Burlap & Barrel, Ethan was a line cook and pastry chef in New York City and an international aid worker, working for the Aga Khan Foundation in Afghanistan for Doctors without Borders with Syrian refugees in northern Jordan, among others. He was recognized by Food & Wine Magazine as a 2020 Food Industry Game-Changer and recently appeared on the hit TV show Shark Tank. Ethan also became Bar Mitzvah at WES in June of 2000.
