A (Pre) Chanukah Celebration
for all Ages at WES


Sunday, Dec. 18, 2-4:30 pm

In the darkest time of the year, the Jewish response always is to increase the light in this world. West End Synagogue will prepare for Chanukah (which begins Sat. night Dec. 24) with laughing, learning, singing, creating, eating, and creating a communal "wall of light" installation on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 18. All welcome! 

 
Cost: WES member individuals $5/families $10; non-WES member individuals $10/families $18. Click HERE to register.
  • 2-2:30 pm: Candle-making, Chanukah cookie-making, and crafts for children; "Chanukah and Religious Freedom," study session for adults/teens with Rabbi Margolius;  
     
  • 2:30-3 pm: "The Great Latka-Hamantaschen Debate" for adults and teens; musical programming for ages 0-10 with Landon Braverman and Alexis Fishman.
     
  • 3-3:30 pm: Intergenerational dreidel games; social justice workshop (teens and adults) on Islamophobia and anti-Semitism.
     
  • 3:30-4:30 pm: world famous WES Choir performance, Chanukah songfest, latkes, vodka, fair-trade gelt, and dreidels!
