Top Ten Reasons to Enjoy a JFLL Shabbat

First Shabbat of the month: Friday Evening Kabbalat Shabbat and Dinner.

Some months we’ll enjoy our traditional Pot Luck dinner or, occasionally, a traditional Shabbat sit down dinner.

Second Shabbat: Saturday Morning Family Service and Learning Program.

Our family-friendly Shabbat Service, in which we learn the meaning and traditions behind our liturgy.

Third Shabbat: Friday Evening.

All parents and students grades 3 – 7 will attend Shirat HaLev, the beautiful, stirring musical Service developed by Hazzan Ayelet, and we’ll have a separate children’s Service downstairs for students K – 2. We’ll all reconvene at the Oneg.

Fourth Shabbat: Sof HaChodesh (End of the Month) Shabbat Experience,
Saturday Morning.

In this slot we will enjoy a special Shabbat activity that will highlight our Jewish Values curriculum. Expect the unexpected as we are planning a variety of activities that will include Story Telling, Tikkun Olam projects, unconventional worship and other alternatives to a traditional Service.

Family Shabbat Programs are an integral part of the Jewish Family Life and Learning education program.

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?

Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.

You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.
